02 / From Idea to Product

From Idea
to Product.

One engineering perspective. One shared goal. We turn an initial sketch into a working, manufacturable product.

01.03

Field and usage analysis

We examine the operating environment and user interaction to establish the conditions that will guide the design.

01.04

Technical feasibility

We assess technology options, technical constraints and feasibility.

01.05

Requirements, project plan and kick-off

We document requirements and scope, then begin development with a project plan and kick-off meeting.

Stage 02 / 06

Product Design

We bring functionality, electronics and mechanical design into a shared product architecture.

Activities04
02.01

System and electronic architecture

We define functional blocks, electronic components and their connections within one product architecture.

02.02

Mechanical structure and enclosure design

We design the mechanical structure around protection, connections and assembly.

02.03

Industrial design and ergonomics where required

Where the scope requires it, we consider form, ease of use and ergonomics alongside the product architecture.

02.04

Display and button interfaces

We shape displays, buttons and indicators around product functions and user scenarios.

The focus of this stage

Working hardware. Embedded software. Technical knowledge.

Stage 03 / 06

Engineering & Development

We turn the design into working hardware and embedded software, documenting the technical information for production.

Activities07
03.01

Circuit and PCB design

We translate the electronic architecture into circuit schematics and PCB layouts for manufacturing.

03.02

Embedded software development

We implement product control, functionality and communication through software running on the microcontroller.

03.03

Hardware-software integration

We bring the board and embedded software together and validate interactions between system components.

03.04

Technical optimisation

We refine performance, component selection and design feasibility against the technical requirements.

03.05

Schematics, BOM, Gerber/drill and Pick & Place

We prepare schematics, bills of materials and board fabrication and assembly files.

03.06

Mechanical drawings, assembly and revisions

We organise mechanical drawings, assembly information and design changes into a coherent technical file.

03.07

Specifications, test procedures and user guides where required

We define specifications and test procedures, preparing user guides when the scope requires them.

The focus of this stage

The first physical expression of the design.

Stage 04 / 06

Prototyping

We learn from physical prototypes, evaluating the complete system from circuit board to assembled device.

Activities05
04.01

PCB prototypes

We prepare the first physical boards and begin electronic bring-up.

04.02

Board assembly

We assemble components onto prototype boards and perform initial electronic checks.

04.03

Mechanical and enclosure prototypes — in-house or externally sourced

We prototype mechanical parts and enclosures in-house or through external suppliers, as needed.

04.04

Complete device assembly

We bring boards, mechanical parts and connections together to evaluate the complete device.

04.05

Initial function trials and improvements

We improve the prototype using findings from initial use and functional trials.

The focus of this stage

Measured, evaluated and documented.

Stage 05 / 06

Testing & Validation

We measure, validate and revise the design when needed. EMC, electrical safety and environmental tests are coordinated with external laboratories where required.

Activities06
05.01

Functional tests

We check expected product functions against defined test scenarios.

05.02

Performance measurements

We measure product behaviour and technical performance against requirements and evaluate the results.

05.03

Hardware-software validation

We validate that electronic hardware and embedded software work together at system level.

05.04

Design revisions

We feed test findings back into the design and apply changes through controlled revisions.

05.05

External laboratory test coordination

Where required, we coordinate EMC, electrical safety and environmental testing with external laboratories.

05.06

Test records

We document test conditions, findings and results for subsequent development and production stages.

Stage 06 / 06

Serial Production

From technical files to complete, shipment-ready products. Pilot production refines the process for repeatable manufacturing.

Activities06
06.01

Technical file transfer and version control

We organise production files and current revisions to transfer design knowledge into manufacturing.

06.02

Production preparation and pilot builds

Pilot builds let us evaluate assembly and testing, refining the process for repeatable production.

06.03

PCB assembly and programming

We incorporate board assembly and embedded software programming into the production flow.

06.04

Wiring, enclosure and final assembly

We carry out wiring, enclosure assembly and final device assembly using the technical documentation.
